Howdy LILMacians! New week, new collage! This week's collage was like giving birth. I was a bit nervous and stressed because of the World Cup. Time was not the problem, I had the original open in Photoshop for a few days and just looked at it, completely empty of ideas.

First I started retouching and cutting, forcing myself to unlock that barrier that separated me from creativity. Those who follow my activity may know that I have a fixation for changing backgrounds. This time was no exception. Especially with such an invasive background. I removed it in an ungraceful way, not like other times when I did it more subtly. I tried to do something softer at first. But I gave up when the manual method threatened to take years.

Que tal LILMacians! Nueva semana, nuevo collage! El collage de esta semana fue como dar a luz. Estuve algo nervioso y estresado por el mundial. El tiempo no fue el problema, tuve el original abierto en el Photoshop durante algunos días y sólo me limité a mirarlo, completamente vacío de ideas.

Primero comencé a retocar y cortar, obligándome a destrabar esa barrera que me separaba de la creatividad. Quienes siguen mi actividad quizás sepan que tengo una fijación por cambiar los fondos. Esta vez no fue la excepción. Sobre todo con un fondo tan invasivo. Lo eliminé de manera poco graciosa, no como otras veces que lo hice más sutilmente. Intenté hacer algo más suave en un comienzo. Pero desistí cuando el método manual amenazaba con tardar años.

Luckily once started, the collage began to emerge fluidly. There are many pieces from previous collages that I allow myself to reuse because I am pleased and proud of the result. Some other resources, like the trees for example: I found them to be very interesting realistic illustrations. I feel that they blend in with the landscape but at the same time take on an interesting secondary protagonism.

What I liked the least was the pine tree, but it seemed appropriate for the theme and the time. The candy canes I feel are an infallible and characteristic touch, they convey the whole Christmas.

Por suerte una vez iniciado, el collage comenzó a emerger fluidamente. Hay muchas piezas de collages anteriores que me permito reutilizar porque estoy satisfecho y orgulloso del resultado. Algunos otros recursos, como por ejemplo los árboles: me parecieron ilustraciones realistas muy interesantes. Siento que se mezclan con el paisaje pero a su vez toman un protagonismo secundario interesante.

Lo que menos me gustó fue el pino, pero me pareció apropiado por la temática y la época. Los bastones de caramelo siento que son un toque infaltable y característico, transmiten toda la navidad.

The deer, was originally intended as a stag. They are not the same animal, but the similarity is undeniable, and that image from a previous collage was beautiful and to reuse something that was so beautiful is a source of pride.

At first I had tried to put some little houses in the snow, but I discarded the idea. I didn't achieve the desired effect of making a tiny little "mini village" of smurfs or something similar, but it didn't work and it's an idea I plan to execute in the future.

El ciervo, estaba pensado originalmente como un ciervo. No son el mismo animal, pero la similitud es innegable, y esa imagen de un collage anterior me quedó hermosa y reutilizar algo que quedó tan bello es un orgullo.

En un inicio había probado poner unas casitas en la nieve, pero deseché la idea. No logre el efecto deseado de hacer una pequeña diminuta “mini aldea” de pitufos o algún similar, pero no funcionó y es una idea que planeo ejecutar en un futuro.
