Hive account@mattlovell and I visited a huge Azalea and Camellia nursery in Alta Dena, California. The grounds stretch for acres, and are renowned suppliers of these beautiful plants. Matt knew this is the place to come buy azaleas to bonsai!
Most of the Azaleas bloom a little later, so the above are just the tiniest sample of what this nursery has to offer. We didn't even wander into camellia land, but there was one marvelous permanent tree in the azalea section:
What a delightful botanical field trip! And wow, the prices were amazingly low: just $8 for a 1 gallon.
