Hi Steemians. It happens to be 20th of May today. Its 520 Day which is also a Day of Love especially for Chinese communities. Number has always been an interesting existence to the Chinese especially when they create meanings out of numbers.
The mandarin letter of the number 520, 五二零, with its pinyin, "wǔ èr líng", rhymes to the sound of the chinese love words 我爱你, "wǒ ài nǐ". Well don't actually sound the same but Chineses are just that "amazing" in making meanings out of numbers. Initially it was just an internet slang for Chinese lovebirds to text each other in replacement of the original mandarin words of "I Love You", 我爱你.
Somehow, someone, who know when, started to associate 20th May to the meaning. Since then, every 20th May has become a 520 Love Day.
So, take this chance to say "Happy 520!!" or in mandarin:
五二零快乐, "wǔ èr líng kuài lè !!"
to your love ones, be it your spouse, parents, siblings, friends or someone you wish to greet this meaningful day to.
