En Colombia tenemos una tradición preciosa que se vive cada 7 de diciembre: la Noche de las Velitas. Es un momento especial para encender pequeñas luces que simbolizan esperanza, gratitud y buenos deseos, casi siempre al lado de la familia y de las personas que queremos.
Este año tuve la oportunidad de vivir esta celebración de una forma diferente. Estuve visitando unos amigos y juntos encendimos las velitas en el parque de Caldas, Antioquia. El ambiente estaba increíble: muchísimas familias reunidas, niños corriendo con faroles, parejas conversando, y ese espíritu bonito que se siente cuando todos comparten una misma tradición. Entre risas y conversaciones, la gente disfrutaba algo de comer o beber, porque este día también es perfecto para compartir un antojito.
En nuestro caso, el frío del lugar —unos 17°— nos llevó directo a un delicioso chocolate caliente con pandequeso. ¡No se imaginan lo bien que nos cayó! Una combinación perfecta para acompañar el momento y seguir disfrutando de la noche.
Al final fue un día maravilloso, lleno de familia, amigos y buenos deseos. Y como ahora está de moda, también escribimos en las velas palabras como salud, felicidad, abundancia y todo aquello que anhelamos para el próximo año. Es bonito ver cómo cada luz encendida lleva un deseo al cielo.
