I can’t blame them. But @StephMcKenzie gives us something more here, a prescription for how to get out of the trap. Please, I beg you, read this.

Hive account@jeffreymartin. He’s back, ladies and gentlemen, with a post about the creative process and writing about magic. For any fantasist, I seriously and strongly recommend you give this post a read. But then it’s by Hive account@jeffreymartin, and if you’re not already reading everything he writes, you’re missing some of the best stuff on the site.
Steemit community: New Users Be Patient by 
Hive account@joelfriedman68. This is great advice--heck, not just here--for Steemians. As a member of the club of those that have yet to produce five posts that have made over $5, I’m taking this advice as well.

Hive account@cryptologyx. Inventive stuff. One of the most entertaining intro posts I’ve ever seen here.
Steem: No, You Don’t Understand The Blockchain by 
Hive account@moodleman. Apparently, this is true. I don’t. After reading this, I felt slightly more like I had a clue. Non-technical, simple language, really solid post.
History: Introducing the Official History Trail on Steemit by 
Hive account@history-trail. We can’t have too much push for good history, in my opinion, so here’s my tiny boost to a worthwhile project. I’ll be following closely.
Special Prize: Simple is Best by 
Hive account@sheagar. Good artwork, but really excellent description of the process by which the art was made. I’m fascinated by creative machinery. You’ll enjoy it too, I believe.

I don't like grammar and spelling errors. I make them, but I hate them. Unless the post is supremely brilliant, even a couple of these--especially in the title--will mean it doesn't make this list. NOTE: if you're writing in your second language, significant slack will be given here. When I write in my second language, I'm lucky if I can be understood at all.
Minnows--I am a minnow, and I'm all in on support for the newbies. Doesn't mean I won't curate a whale post, but it's unlikely. If your rating is over 70, you don't need my help (for whatever it's worth).
