Greetings Steemians, thanks for checking out my #introduceyourself post!
My name is Phillip Mcgaughey, but most call me Phil. I am from the United States, more specifically, Frankfort, Kentucky. I'm twenty-seven years old, and I have a three year old son named Levi. I am new to Steem, and even more, blogging in general. I currently run a Restaurant as the Unit Director of Bojangles in my town.
Some of my interests are video gaming, L.A.R.Ping, concerts, & people. I hope to write about all these things in the time to come here on Steemit, but mostly I plan to talk about that last topic. People interest me more than anything. The human body and mind are, in my opinion, the most interesting subject matter. Both of them capable of doing extraordinary things with proper conditioning and dedication.
But before all that I should probably tell you why I am here. So, my Steemit story starts with a friend named Sweeney. It seems like our entire friendship, he has been attempting to persuade everyone around him to get on the cryptocurrency train. If I had listened to him just once, I could be a millionaire today. In all the time that I've heard him speak on behalf of the crypto-community, I've never seen or heard so much passion out of someone, than when he started "steeming".
Here I am thinking I am terrible at blogging, and writing in general really. As much as it seems like a great idea, it just isn't for me. Then he starts mentioning The Steem House. It sounds so amazing, but so hard to set up, and I can't see the support. Finally, I get super frustrated with my job, not because its hard, or that I am bad at it, but I was frustrated because my ideas are shutdown at the company level because they do not value ingenuity as much as they do the straight numbers. I was frustrated because I felt no sense of belonging, just a cog in someone else's machine. This "final straw" so to speak, was what pushed me over the hump. I want to make something instead of just managing it. Enter, .
It finally clicked, this was how I would foster my own ingenuity, how I would connect with people from all walks of life, and how I can be a bigger part of something incredible, something entirely people based. Steemit and The Steem House are my chances at being who I want to be, without any restriction. My path is my own, and my thoughts matter.
With all that being said, here I am, and I cant wait to get right to it!
