Happy #NeedleWorkMonday everyone! Today is also my 37th Birthday 🎉!!! I can’t believe I’ll be 40 in a few years because I still feel 20!!! 😜
Anyhoo! I am so excited I had the chance to work on my baby girl’s crochet cardigan! I wanted to get going on this so she can wear it this Fall. This pattern was created by our very own needleworker ! She graciously shared this beautiful pattern with the needlework community and I couldn’t wait to try my hands at it!
It really got me motivated when I saw ’s finished cardigan as well as
’s finished cardigan! These ladies did a lovely job following her pattern and both reported it was easy to follow.
The Yoke
When I first learned how to do the fsc (foundation single crochet) stitch it took me almost 2 days to figure it out. I was so frustrated I couldn’t get it that it brought me to TEARS! My husband suggested I put it away and come back to it in a couple of days but I was determined to get it figured out. Sometimes we overthink things when it could just be a simple step.
Now I can do it with no struggle at all. So when I saw that ’s pattern called for it I approached it with proudness :D
I loved crocheting up this first part . It was fun watching this come into shape. I kept measuring it to my baby to make sure she would have plenty of room . I want to make this bigger than what she is now so she’ll have room to grow.
Separating Sleeves
Making the sleeve openings was a lot of fun. I love seeing my projects progress as I crochet. I kept imagining my baby’s little arms going in there. 🤗
I love that I will be able to fit the sleeves exactly to her arm length. I will make them a little longer so she will have room to grow length wise as well.
The Body
This is where I ended late last night. I haven’t tried the finished body on my daughter yet. I will do that sometime today before I move on. She is quite long so I need to make sure it goes down to her waistline.
Let me say I am having a lot of fun and can’t wait to show you more as it develops. My husband helped me choose the color scheme. It will consist of pretty Fall colors! The pattern has been easy to follow and I was able to do this much in just one sitting. Thanks again for this beautiful easy to follow pattern!! 💗
Thanks for Stopping By~
