Prayer, which is a means of communication to God, can be likened to the relationship between a child and parent. In a situation where they are geographically apart, they'll always ensure to get in touch with each other. Likewise, this is how our communication with God is needed.
God is our Father and one thing he desires that we do is that we observe fellowship with Him. How do we observe this fellowship if fail to go before Him in prayers? We shouldn't have any reason whatsoever not to pray.
Jeremiah 33:3 KJV
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
There's a lot that God wants to reveal to us. But for this to be work out we have to reach out to Him first. God said in His Word that if we draw near to Him that He would draw near to us. That is how it works. We can't receive from God is we have not first of all reached out to Him.
