We must be disciplined if we are to successfully live the lives that Christians are supposed to live. This means that we must set aside all of our bodily appetites and desires. Forming habits is simple, but breaking them is challenging but not impossible.
In order to successfully break a bad habit, we must be highly willing to do so and deliberate about it. No one can assist us if we are not prepared to receive assistance in the first place. Addiction of any kind, including drug addiction, cannot be overcome by magic. It requires dedication and earnestness. God can easily intervene and guide us through this stage when He sees this.
The type of association we participate in is another crucial point to consider. Cutting ties with some friends may be necessary for someone to overcome drug addiction because, in most cases, they were the ones who persuaded them to adopt that lifestyle.
We must sever our links with these guys and make new ones who will bring us closer to God rather than farther away since keeping them would not benefit us.
