Tonight I used Surfshark for the first time as I needed to watch sport whilst in the UK and it worked seamlessly. In South Africa my tv subscription is around 30 GBP and is worth the cost for the sport that is available.
This evening I tried to watch the Ireland vs South Africa rugby match only to be blocked with the words access denied due to being in the wrong territory. I was not sure if I would be blocked or not and luckily had the Surfshark VPN as back up just in case. Loading SA as the country it linked the tv immediately and there was no worries.
If I lived in the UK I would sign up for the Super Sport App as it gives you access to every single Premier League match. Today they aired all 7 games live and in the UK I know Sky does not offer every game plus what they offer is far more expensive than 30 GBP. Sky offer a sports package but the number of live football matches is very limited. Maybe would do a comparison.
The Ireland vs South Africa game was one way traffic with SA winning 24-13 which the score line does not represent the game itself. Ireland ruined any chance of an open game by playing off side and playing a more of a disruptive game. This was not an entertaining game to watch and I think this was the Irish plan knowing they could not allow the SA team to play or they would have been thrashed.
At one point the Irish had 3 players in the sin bin and is the most I have ever seen at any one time. In total there were 5 yellow cards and a red card in the match and there was never any real flow.
Ireland were physically bullied by the South African forwards with the Irish forwards crumbling at every scrum. This must have been a shock for the Irish fans seeing their players not good enough and have to be one of the weakest forward packs in the home nations. Every scrum they were losing meters and in the end tried to avoid this set piece. The referee was lenient with the Irish players as the entire front row should have been carded, but then there would not have been a game. A minimum of 5 players have to be in the scrum to make a game and Ireland could have easily been penalised more.
Ireland were once a strong team a few years ago and have dropped in quality due to players retiring. They have not managed to replace those players with the same quality and they need to rebuild. Looking at the make up of the team they do not have the depth and are struggling.
When we look at all the other 6 Nation teams England is the only team that is trending in the right direction and the World Cup is only 2 years away. England play Argentina tomorrow so we shall see if they are improving or last weeks result was a once off.
