Bitcoin should be digital money. It should compete with the U.S. dollar or other fiat currencies, and thus, a priority should be put on its use as a means of exchange.
Competitors are gaining because of bitcoin's inaction. They believe protocols other than bitcoin have continued to gain traction because they're useful for payments;
It's so weird why people are obsessed with this; it functions perfectly well and will probably never be used for regular cash, quite simply because there are so few of them. It works as a web payment so let's be happy with that.
I just hope the fork doesn't negatively affect price; and everything just carries on as normal.
