Rapper 50 Cent confirmed on Wednesday that he has won millions of dollars by accepting the Bitcoin payment for his 2014 album - Animal Ambition, writes Business Insider.
The artist announced in a post on Instagram that he forgot that he had accepted Bitcoin payments that had been in his accounts for 4 years and now, according to TMZ, they are worth between $ 7 and $ 8.5 million.
50 Cents confirmed by posting a screen shot of the TMZ report on Instagram with the description "Not bad for a South Side kid, I'm very proud of myself."
TMZ has calculated the 700 Bitcoins that 50 cent received from the album sales in 2014 and have been unmatched in its 4-year account for between $ 7 million and $ 8.5 million. And that only at the current market, leave them 4 more years and you might be amazed of its earnings.
I believe that this is another example of an early adoption of the cryptocurrency and of the well known principle of HODL. While in case of 50 Cents that was not made unconscious as the rapper itself said that he forgot about the Bitcoins, it is still a proof of getting involved in the early stages and gathering the results later on. So, let's all get involved as early as we can and just let the investment stay for few months/years and than see the results. I think this is the challenge for each of us!
