With the recent spike of Bitcoin (BTC) exchange rate already gearing for $1100 USD things are really hectic in the altcoin world as well. I'm continuing my series of posts about going for a high-end gaming laptop that you can use for crypto currency mining when you don't need it for anything else. The series centers around an Acer Predator gaming laptop with an Nvidia GTX 1070 GPU and on mining Zcash (ZEC) or more precisely selling your mining hashrate on NiceHash instead of mining directly and getting paid in Bitcoin directly.
Using the NiceHash Miner and their latest EQM miner for Zcash (ZEC) shows around $1.94 USD per day, or with other words profit is getting higher than it was previously. Of course you still need to deducts the cost for the electricity used from that amount, but it is still nice to make somethign back from the hardware you get while you dont use it for work or play. CPU mining is still not very profitable on NiceHash, so you better not stress the processor of the laptop as it works pretty hot under high load and what you earn from it mining is not worth the extra power used and noise.
