Some photos of the custom painted 1:43 scale Kyosho dNaNo Audi R8 body that I also turned into a LMS-like version (not originally available for the dNaNo) by adding a 3D printed wing at the back (using carbon filament material). Do note that the whole model is really small, just a few centimeters long and painting it is not an easy job and does require a lot of patience. There are of course also readily painted bodies available, but it is much more fun to paint it yourself. As for the bright green color... you just need to make this small RC model visible on the race track :)
Incredibly detailed miniature cars look just like 1/43 scale replicas. Kyosho dNaNo revolutionizes the world of micro motor sports with its breathtaking realism and advanced circuit system. Kyosho innovation results in a newly developed chassis that clones the scale dimensions of the original car. Achieves both advanced racing performance as well as scale realism. - Kyosho.com
So how small is a 1:43 scale, well the wheelbase is just 61.6mm and the Kyosho dNaNo RC cars are remote controlled and with fully proportional controls and not just like your ordinary small toy car.
These small RC models are so fast that they offer equivalent scale speed of 700 km/h! They need to use a custom designed rechargeable Lithium battery cell, because popular NiMH battery sizes such as 1.5V AA batteries are almost the full size of one of these cars... no way to make it so small even if using the smaller 1.5V AAA batteries.
A fun fact is that the transmitter or the remote you use to control these small RC cars is a couple of times bigger than the actual car itself.
Some more photos of small scale RC cars will be coming soon...
