Last Tuesday was Carnival day, which in some regions of Portugal is celebrated with great enthusiasm.
In the region where I was born and live, Porto, is not celebrated with such enthusiasm and there are no Carnival parades.
However, in the region where my wife was born and lived most of her life, it is something celebrated with everything it deserves.
Since she attaches importance to Carnival and my 6-year-old daughter asked to go see the parade, we invited a couple of friends and we went to the Carnival parade in Estarreja.
It wasn't sunny that day, but at least it didn't rain, which allowed the parade to take place normally and with the participation of all associations and samba schools.
As in all carnivals, we had cars with the theme of the environment, fun, Portuguese culture and political satire.
Even though I'm not a big Carnival fan, I actually had fun watching the parade.
Here are some pictures of the parade.
