I ended my last post on a bit of a low point. This post will be ending on a very high point. Heheheh.
We were wrecked from our unexpected hike and decided to sleep in until our accommodation checkout time rather than hunt for a sunrise picture.
We stayed at a place called Bear Creek Cabins which for $157 for three beds was an absolute bargain! We even had ourselves a little BBQ out by the deck.
We didn't have much hope for our last day. There was still a 5 hour drive home ahead of us so decided to hit as many car accessible view points as possible before we had to leave.
The first stop was the El Capitan view point.
El Capitan to the left
Cathedral Rocks and Taft Point to the right
Both sides with me in the middle!
My legs were so tired from the previous day that I am not ashamed to admit I fell in the water after that picture.
From there we decided to check how car accessible Taft Point is, but as it was a 35 minute drive away we realised it would be the last stop of the day, so checked for anything we could visit on the way. Tunnel View was the obvious choice.
Apparently Tunnel View is the most popular place to take sunset pictures, but we had to move on.
From here we drove to the Taft Point car park, making jokes about the potential epic hike we had ahead of us. When we arrived we were met with a sign that said "Taft Point 1.1 miles", obviously I had to make a "are we 100% sure that's a decimal point? " joke.
Thankfully it was a very tame, very flat and well shaded walk through the forest. It was a nice change in pace from the previous day.
Near the end of the trail we found a rock formation and my inner child came out.
And then we were met with the trips finale. Taft Point has several sheer cliff edges, each one steeper and with a more spectacular view than the other. I'll let the pictures do the talking.
Thankfully there was hardly any wind that day. As you can probably tell I have zero issues with being near great heights, however I do have issues with falling from them. If the weather wasn't as calm as it was, I probably wouldn't have been as bold.
The view looking over the edge
Can you blame me for looking that smug?
In my two months of being in California, Yosemite has to be my favourite place that I've visited. I'd even go as far as saying it was more beautiful than the Grand Canyon.
I just really wish that I had worn boots...
That's all from my Yosemite trip. I'd like to thank curation teams such as Pinmapple and Curangel for helping my previous post make the trending list.
