The Ridged Riverbed
Sea-slugs biding time:
Admiring the algal blooms,
Ruminating on the saline virtues
Of the estuary's sea-sludge
Laughing silently.
Humor of the downtrodden half-moon,
Glowing with no glow—
Awaiting the grace of a summer monsoon.
It'll be how it oughta be:
Soon, soon, a change gon' come.
If slug-I stay still or run, no matter—
To stand strong in the face
Of a force of nature is wise,
To attempt to buck its grain
Likely ends in one's demise.
The untangling of subtle pins
On the seafloor:
Poseidon please un-padlock me!
Slug-I reached my limits;
Let me roam unto infinity.
