Welcome everyone
In times of bear markets , pumps and dumps and all other crypto related things , we need to relax once in a while.
Today I want to share something different than usual. Something I like to do. Something I need to do.
Gardening.
2 Months ago my girlfriend and I moved to our new house. One of things I really love is the garden.
It’s not a small one so it takes a lot of my time to maintain it. I have absolutely no experience so I really suck at it. But I’m here to learn. Is that not the reason why we are here? To learn? I think so.
Let’s take a look.
As you can see I have 2 lawns. One in the front and one in the back. So I regularly need to mow the grass this time of the year. It takes quite a lot of time to do it. Maybe 2 hours. I bought the most cheapest lawnmower so that did not help me out either. Next time I’m going to buy something decent. It just takes too much time.
I also have quite a bit of flowers in my garden!
Looks good doesn’t it?
That’s because I had nothing to do with it. My family-in-law made this happen.
They planted it and put some bark (is that the word in English?) on the ground to counter the evil weeds!
My job is just to maintain it.
A few weeks later this happened.
My sunflowers! My precious….
They don’t look good.
What happened? Snails. It was an invasion and I was too late to save them. But I’m wondering…do they grow back? I have no idea. I cut off some of the dead leaves but that’s it. Do I need to do anything more? Someone knows?
Okay. Next. My favorite! Growing vegetables and fruit!
My dad and I planted spinach , cauliflower , celery and carrots.
I don’t have pictures of the cauliflower. Because…well they’re dead. Snails again.
Look at my spinach! Raaawrr!!
I feel like Popeye! Me and my girlfriend have already eaten our home grown spinach several times and we are not dead yet! So think this is a success! It do takes a lot of time to prepare and cook it though. But it’s all free and healthy!
Celery!
My 6 plants have grown a lot and look ready to harvest!
My carrots.
At first I thought they would not make it but as you see they look good.
I’m looking forward to harvest them.
We also have strawberries.
Yummy! They were already there when we bought the house so that was a nice surprise.
Last week I planted cucumbers (seeds).
I followed the instructions and planted 2 seeds in one hole. In total about 4 holes. In time you need to remover the weaker plant of the 2. I’m really excited to see how they grow. Some of them did not make it. But it’s always a good idea to plant several seeds because not all of them will make it through the end.
I think this is enough for part 1. I need to cut some weeds! See you next time!
