I suppose when I'm old and bed ridden, I'll miss the struggle. Perspective. Mentality. Gotta manifest it yo!
Is every generation cursed with the 'my life is hardest' struggle? Or is it just me? Probably just me. One ability I do have, is the ability to complain!
I am forever fascinated by odds. What are the odds of this or that. Sports are typically fun for that reason.
But I wonder what are the odds one lives a good life? Maybe there was never a good life and that's why people write books, or make movies. It's all a cope. I wish someone warned me. Or I wish I wasn't always so optimistic when I was younger.
Even if someone didn't make the plethora of incredibly dumb decisions I made throughout my life, what are the actual odds anyone lives a good life? Have these odds gone up or down or remained the same throughout time? What do I mean by good life? I guess to be able to contribute to society, and get a fair return. It's like the only option you have is to be exceptional these days. Be exceptional or suffer. In a way I respect that, and understand that. But what about above average or average? A shade below average? I think pretty much everyone has something to offer.
I think it's reasonable to think that we live better than cavemen or hunter gatherers, but once society moved past that phase, have things really improved drastically generation to generation? Is the fact that human pophas increased all the proof we need? I feel like it isn't that simple. Believe me, I think the word 'nuance' may be the most overused word of the past 20 years, but I do think there should be more proof that life has gotten better other than just the fact that we have billions of people.
I'm not talking specific societies here or there, there's always exceptions but on average globally I suppose, has quality of life improved and if it has, has it much or is it over hyped? Sure there's likely more people living decent lives in 2026, but what's the actual proportion for real compared to 1,000 years ago? What's the percentage? By decent lives I mean like having actual freedom to semi enjoy life. Have we lost the plot? Is selfishness and greed really that powerful?
Does innovation and technology advancement actually improve quality of life overall, or does it just sort of help sustain more life quantity wise?
Maybe it's embarrassing I'm making these realizations now. I maybe should have anticipated this.
I guess the fact is life is supposed to be hard. Call me what ya want, that's a bit depressing.
It's hard to just always maintain a great attitude. If watching MMA has taught me anything, one can only take so many jabs. A few can be withstood, but enough jabs stacked up, anyone will fall eventually.
Mentality is I suppose the key. Living a balanced life. Moderation. Yeah.
Sometimes I think I'm just lazy. But I've always done work. I think it's a bit of a paradox to call myself, or 98 percent of people lazy. We literally all exist, we all work to some degree. Nobody has ever lived for free. This is something that often torments me when I'm complaining about the world. But I don't think there's ever been a time nobody could afford to not work. If you don't work, you basically cease to exist. So I guess it's me defending my own fear that I'm lazy, and even defending my generation when many say we're all lazy.
I recently found out how handy the Hive Keychain is. I'm probably like 4-5 years late on that memo HA. Better late than never. Knowledge is power they say.
Anyway, there's another thought dump into the universe. Maybe there was a good point or two in there, hopefully something thought provoking. Meh. If it didn't make sense, maybe that's perfect. Because life typically doesn't make sense anyway. Hive on folks.
What a beast this guy was. Too cool and hilarious.
