This free game plays just as good as it looks 🤩

The First Descendant is a new free-to-play cross-platform third-person looter shooter. That's quite the description, but I think it better to say it this way rather than be vague with my explanation of the game.

I've seen several gameplay videos of this game for a while now, but it wasn't until September 19 that I was finally able to get my hands on it myself thanks to the open beta which lasted until September 26.

Before playing the game, I loved how gorgeous the graphics were. I'm a big fan of looter shooter games like Destiny, The Division, Borderlands, and so many others. There have been plenty of looter shooters that I disliked too. I had high hopes for The First Descendant but was hesitant to believe that it was as fun to play as it is to look at.

I am extremely happy to report that this game is indeed a great time. Not only does it look good visually, but it plays extremely well. It's a very fast-paced game and if you have good twitch reflexes, you will be great right away like I was.

It is no exaggeration when I say that the gunplay in The First Descendant is some of the best I've experienced in some time. The feedback you get when registering hits on a target feels so good. Headshots are satisfying as hell and there are just so many cool weapons. This is all made even more immersive if you are like me and play on PS5 with a DualSense, where I can confirm that the haptics and adaptive triggers are hard at work in this game.

I think this game has a shot at being really popular in the future. I hope the developers stick with it and a community develops, because this one deserves to be played.

Last a few things I'll add to give you an idea about the game. The main hub is similar to what you're used to with Destiny 2. Boss battles are somewhat similar to that of Horizon Forbidden West since bosses have weak points and you can knock off certain parts of their armor. The gunplay is on par with something like The Division 2, every weapon just feels so damn good to be in control of.

Enjoy the first 40 minutes of me playing this game. I have since played several hours more because it's just so much fun. I cannot wait for this game to release, but sadly we may be waiting until early 2024 for that since the game doesn't have an official release date set just yet.
