Gimme All Your Lovin' is the first single from ZZ Top's the commercially most successful album "Eliminator".
One of the most famous Texas blues/southern rock bands released this album and the song in 1983.
The sound is influenced by the new wave and Gimme All Your Lovin' is the first ZZ Top single that contains synths (the first song ZZ Top used synths is Groovy Little Hippie Pad from the previous album "El Loco").
On the other hand, one of my favorite guitar players, Billy Gibbons shows how you should play rock guitar on Gimme All Your Lovin'. Though flirting with the mainstream and younger audience, ZZ Top provides a piece of good rock in their recognizable style.
The video clip for the song introduces a few ZZ Top symbols that will keep on appearing later on other band video clips. We have here the ZZ Eliminator Car (a 1933 Ford Hot Rod), the ZZ Keychain and the Three ZZ Girls.
The video was heavily aired on MTV and it contributed to the success of the "Eliminator" album, which sold 10 million copies.
