Weekend Scones
What could be better than making scones in the early morning and enjoying it for breakfast?

Scones are super easy to make. The whole process, including baking, shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.
Scones are prepared with baking powder which makes them best suited for immediate consumption. Freezing them and later defrosting them in the microwave could be an option, but remember that they tend to get hard and stale if stored in a plastic bag for a longer period.
They are best served fresh, straight from the oven! (maybe leave them for 15 min so they are not smoking hot... ;) )
Ingredients
- 500 g Wheat Flour (8 dl)
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 3 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 100 g Margarine or Butter
- 300 g Milk
Instructions
Heat the oven to 250C degrees.
Mix flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl.
Add the margarine/butter and mix well with a fork, knife and/or your fingers. You should aim for a fine powder without any big lumps of flour.
Add the milk and use a spoon to mix it into a solid dough. Tips: Make it into a dough quickly and gently, with as little movements as possible. This will prevent the Scones from becoming hard. Thanks,
Divide into 4 equal sizes and prepare as shown in the picture.

For each piece make a cross with a sharp knife and use a fork to create a simple pattern.

Put in the oven at 250C degrees and bake for about 10 minutes.

Enjoy your freshly made scones with your favorite topping. Butter, cheese, jam, marmalade, clotted cream etc.
