This week I'm having another special and I'm so excited coz I've been stacking up on those specials this whole year. In fact it started from December 2018 that I have done so many specials and cook stuff that I really want people to try as well as to showcase my cooking ability. It's been great so far having so many fans and customers rave about the new burgers and flavors that they've been having in these specials.
So this week I have another one and it's a fried onions cheeseburger!
I dunk the thinly sliced onions in a light batter just enough to coat the onions and deep fry them until golden brown and crispy.
It adds a a wonderful sweetness to the burger and like all cheeseburgers, onions are often included but instead of raw ones that to me seems a little too sharp, I've added sweet fried onions to mine instead.
It's quick to do unlike caramlised onions which also adds sweetness but it takes a lot of time to make them. This version with crispy fried onions isn't just only adding flavor but an added dimension to texture as well, giving the whole burger a bite of crispiness too.
A customer said that it was really good and that I should permanently add it to the menu. I'm still thinking about it as I have sides on the menu that require me using the deep fryer and I only have 1 deep fryer.
It did take a little more time to cook especially with multiple orders of sides and these fried onions added on to the burger. But I do hope to include this every now and then and make it a more permanent special even if it isn't every week.
