Baltimore Couldn't Heat Schools Now Plans To Spend 100k Busing Students To Gun Control Rally.
Baltimore continues to reaffirm its position as one of the most corrupt cities in the United States. Back in January the Baltimore City school board came under fire from hundreds of students, teachers, and oarants after photos emerged online that showed children bundled up in large jackets in class because the school had no heat. As many as 60 of Baltimore public schools almost 1/3 of the city's total went without sufficient heat this winter. The entire school system was even shut down for a week back in early January. When temperatures dropped into the teens it revealed the sorry state of Baltimore schools infrastructure, leaving many students attempting to learn in sub 40-degree classrooms.
Elementary school teacher Aaron Maybin says this photo shows children -- some wearing coats -- in his cold classroom at Matthew A. Henson Elementary School "My students were freezing," Maybin told reporters. "Most were wearing coats, but some don't have them."
After not being able to heat schools this past January, now Baltimore City Mayor Catherine Pugh has decided to dedicate as much as $100,000 of taxpayer money in order to provide 60 school buses, free t-shirts, and boxed lunches for around 3,000 students who want to attend a gun control rally in Washington, D.C., later this month.
“America needs to hear the voices of the young people of Baltimore,” Pugh told the students before announcing the plan to fund the student trip to the “March for Our Lives” rally on March 24th.
The decision to spend $100k on political activism is leaving many parents with a sour taste curious as to where this discretionary spending was two months ago when students were left freezing in -40 degree temperatures inside their classrooms.
Forced to explain her decision, Mayor Pugh told reporters Wednesday that her office would “try to solicit as many private donations as possible to finance the trip.” Without a doubt many private ‘deep-state’ donors are salivating at the idea of using children as political pawns in their globalist gun grab agenda.
School is for learning, not for being used as a political pawn.Spending taxpayers money against their will for a massive political propaganda campaign against what many taxpayers actually support. Baltimore City is already a gun free zone with a mandatory one year sentence to anyone caught with an illegal handgun. Despite already having an “assault weapons” ban, a “high capacity” magazine ban, and special fingerprinting and reporting requirements on handgun sales, Baltimore’s murder rate is still “more than double the national average.” On top of Baltimore City's continued failures, Mayor Catherine Pugh had decided to press on for more gun control, this time by using children as propaganda tools. This is political abuse of public interests, and it will create no advantages or improvements for the safety of the schools or students in Baltimore city. Politics, no more.
