I made some popsicle stick puppets for the students where I work and told them they could make a play out of them. The drawings were mostly based on the Ye Xian, an ancient Chinese story upon which Cinderella was likely inspired by, but I also added a Chinese three-toed dragon not in the original and a Japanese yokai (phantom) called an Ittan-Momen (I guess he flew to China for some reason). The original story was set in the 4th century BC but I took Ye's fashion from the Tang dynasty. The tree was for a little bit of Chinese setting.
I taped the images to red sticks because of the significance of red in Chinese culture.
