Now to business, [drumroll], WRITER'S BLOCK IS HERE!!!!!... I couldn't waste any more time postponing. In my last post, I talked about how I'd been struggling with writer's block and how it inspired me to start this platform, well, and
helped plenty too, check out the full gist here.
HOW IT'S GOING TO WORK?
It's pretty simple, every week I'll be posting a theme, so..interested writers will use this theme in their stories.
Different days of the week will have different forms of writing (like poetry, fiction, freewrite). So for example, if this week's theme is "crime", and the day is "poetry", you'll have to write a poem about crime.
But it doesn't end there, every week, there'll be a challenge or limitation, and it's going to be very random (for example, the theme for the week could be music and the challenge would be your character is deaf).
There'll be a day mainly for collaborative fiction, lol I believe it is self-explanatory, anyway, this means, a couple of writers will get to write one story together. This will also have its twists and turns.
As time goes by and depending on how it turns out, we'll add more features, hehe, I say "we" like I have a whole team, we'll hopefully, I will soon.
PRIZES?
This is not a contest, it is just a way to challenge yourself and improve as a writer, and also to work on your relationship with other writers, Lord knows I need that.
No promises, but there might be rewards once in a while, you know, depending on the wallet and or how impressed I am with your writing.
How to make a post?
I'm sure you know how to do that.
Just make sure you put Writer's block in your title, and mention
in your post so I can find it.
You could also post your link in the comments section of the post of the week or day, depending.
So that's it for now, you can ask questions in the comments. Now to the week's theme, yes we are getting right to it, no time to waste plus, I'm really excited about this.
WEEK ONE'S THEME:
Source
Yes!, you probably guessed it, I mentioned it earlier. The theme for the week is CRIME, but since we are just getting started, we won't be using the different days of the week, this week, we'll be doing introductions.
NOW, HERE'S THE TWIST;
Your introduction post will be in the form of a story (the kind of story depends on you).
Your character (you) is a criminal (the kind of criminal also depends on you).
There is no limit on the word count, but I'll let you know that I have a very short attention span, and I'm sure a lot of people do too, so if you're writing something long, you should be able to hold your reader's attention.
Make the readers like your character, despite the fact that he/she is a criminal.
Remember, you're introducing yourself, so put enough of yourself in the character.
