Many of us have heard about the gospel at some time. But when they ask us, what is the gospel? We do not know what to answer accurately. In this opportunity, I will be conceptualizing the word gospel, according to the scriptures of the bible.
In addition, we will talk about evangelism, and the different ways that Christians, we can take to the communities, with the sole purpose that Christ Jesus is known by many more people.
The gospel and evangelism have become very tedious issues, in the vast majority of churches, all want to sing, praise, worship, preach in a pulpit, intercede in public, but few want to take to the streets and take the message of good news of salvation, which translates the whole bible.
What is the gospel?
This concept, is one of the most important that reflects the bible, is part of the main purpose of God, to their children on this earth. The gospel is nothing more than the fact of bringing the good news of salvation to other people who have not yet known God. The gospel, could also be translated as, the perfect plan or purpose, which was created by God, to save humanity. Which started, through Jesus crucified on the cross.
Through this beautiful act of love and kindness, overflowed by Jesus bloody on that cross, I start the true gospel in the Bible. The bible in the old testament, spoke that we were all sinners, and therefore we were destitute of the glory of God, but it was through the gospel, which Jesus brought to earth, which is not allowed through Jesus, have access to the father who is in heaven, and be forgiven for each of our faults or sins.
Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23
As a result of sin, which started with Adam and Eve, according to the Bible, we were all destitute, of being close to God, and of being forgiven for our sins. And the punishment given by God, for sin, was described in the bible as death.
Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. What is this pay? It is the "money that is paid or received for a job or service." In other words, it is what you deserve, what you earn. "Romans 6:23
So that all this bad history was reversed, and the payment of our sins was not to die, God had to send his only son to earth, to die for the whole humanity, to give them good news, that is, good news, of the forgiveness of sins, through Jesus. And it is then there, where the gospel of Jesus Christ begins.
Romans 5: 8
"More God shows His love for us, in that while still sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5: 8
Carrying the Gospel - To the Nations.
The gospel of Jesus is nothing more than carrying his good news wherever the Christian goes. There are people who want to make war in the air, and they have not even told their neighbor about Jesus, and even no one recognizes that they are Christians. God's command, to go all over the world, and preach the gospel must begin with our homes or homes. Before going to the nations, you must go to yours, to your uncles, grandparents, brothers, friends and acquaintances.
Mark 16:15
"And he said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" Mark 16: 15
When you begin to evangelize the people you have closest to, by those who know you, by those who know your testimony and the things you saw, at some point you will get more allies, to destroy the forces of the enemy.
After evangelizing the people closest to us, we should be grateful to the land that has seen us born, and begin to have a vision of going through a whole country. Starting with that, which has seen us grow and move forward. This is to go and take the gospel to the nations, really. First start with yours and then go throughout your country, God gives you faith and enough strength, to reach a country, through his gospel, and then many other countries.
Mark 16: 16-18
"He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak new languages; they will take serpents in their hands, and if they drink something deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover "Mark 16: 16-18
What is the gospel of today?
The gospel that unfortunately takes away today is one, which can not be called gospel, because we have said that the gospel is good news, which means that if a Christian is saying in the streets, if you do not repent, you leave to go to hell, it can not be seen as a true gospel.
We must understand that the true gospel is the one that brings you someone, telling you good news, such as: Jesus today wants to enter your life, to give you life and not death. It is enough to continue living a gospel, based on religions and doctrine, and not carry a true gospel, which will always seek to show Jesus as your only and sufficient savior.
The gospel of today, or of this century, is one that is not worrying, praying for its nation or for people who are out in the streets going hungry and naked, but instead prefer to stay stuck in the churches , fattening temples, many words, but few actions that are having to go out to find those people, who are in need of a word and help.
Why do we have to announce the gospel?
It has been a mandate from God, for all his children, to preach the gospel. Many believe that this mandate is only for some people, but it is not so. Preaching the gospel is a call that all of us who claim to be followers of Christ have on earth. As well as that of loving our neighbor as ourselves.
Acts 13: 47
"Thus the Lord has commanded us:" I have made you a light for the nations, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth "Acts 13: 47
Going and making disciples is another of the mandates that God leaves to his children. Another reason why, we must announce the gospel of Jesus.
Matthew 28: 19-20
"Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And I assure you that I will be with you always, until the end of the world "Matthew 28: 19-20
5 Steps to evangelize a person in 5 Minutes.
When preaching, it is important to always have someone next to you, who is supporting you in prayer, while you are preaching to other people. It is a biblical principle, that Jesus, ordered his disciples to preach in two.
Luke 10. 1 - 3
"Afterwards, Jesus chose seventy-two disciples, and sent them in groups of two to two to the towns and places where he was going to pass. Jesus said to them: "There are many who need to enter the kingdom of God, but there are very few who are there to announce the good news. Therefore, ask God to send more followers of mine, to share the good news with all those people. And now, go; But be careful, because I send you as if sending lambs to a cave of wolves
"Luke 10. 1 - 3
He should be kind to the person to whom he is going to preach the gospel, he can not be aggressive, he should consider a position of respect towards that other person, even evaluate the gestures of his face at the moment of preaching. The joy and joy of a person, who has Jesus in his heart, must be seen in his face.
Proverbs 15: 13
"The happy heart nice the face; But for the pain of the heart the spirit is broken "Proverbs 15: 13
We must expose the message of salvation, in a concrete and precise way. Do not get lost, no matter how many paths you may fall into the conversation, be it doctrines or norms, you must be clear that you are not going to preach doctrines or norms, but Jesus. Exposing in the conversation, that whoever believes in Jesus will be saved, and if he will confess with his mouth and believe with his heart that Jesus, rose from the dead and is alive will be saved. It is necessary to limit ourselves to turn around these words, and not to leave the subject that is Jesus.
Romans 10: 9-11
"That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Because with the heart one believes for justice, but with the mouth one confesses for salvation. For the Scripture says: Whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed "Romans 10: 9-11
We should not fall into discussions, with the person we are preaching, because that is what is getting us off track. The doctrines will be exposed by the pastors, when these people congregate in a church. There is no talk of any church or religion, only Jesus is spoken of.
It should be preached only to Jesus Christ, since it is the message that transforms lives. We should not preach pastors or leaders.
You must allow people to pray the prayer of faith, confessing Jesus as their savior, while the other people who accompany you are praying in a low voice. The simple sentence, which you can say to the person you are preaching to, can be this:
"Lord Jesus, I recognize that I am a sinner, I believe that you are the savior and that you died and rose again for me, I ask you to put my name in the book of life, and help me live a life pleasing to you"
He must pray for the sick, the evangelizer, he is obligated to pray for the sick that day.
5 mistakes we make to evangelize.
Not having an action plan, normally when going out to evangelize we think it's anything, go out and talk to the people of God and that's it. And it turns out that to evangelize, as much as for other things in life, we need a plan.
Do not go prepared spiritually, you should not go to evangelize, without having prayed first before leaving, and have had a time of communion with God. We must be connected with God, to guide and guide you.
Speaking more than the account, is one of the errors that most mind, comment the majority of Christians, who go out to evangelize. We must focus on talking, only about Jesus and not about ourselves, or about other issues that are not related to Jesus. And all this what it does is that it distances people, and bores them, we have to say only what is necessary. It's like having a conversation with a friend, you know what interests you and what does not interest you.
Discourage yourself with the first No, suddenly at first you will get people who are totally reluctant, to the message of Jesus, but you should not be discouraged, remember that you are not fighting against blood or flesh, but with hosts of evil, which can be achieved by operating in those people. This should only motivate you, to keep carrying the message of God.
Leave for tomorrow what we can do today, many times the Christian takes more emphasis, other things in the day to day, than the fact of evangelizing. Evangelizing, is a topic that usually leave for another day, and not take the importance that really has.
Proverbs 3:28
"Never say to your neighbor:" Come back later; I will help you tomorrow », if today you have what to help him with" Proverbs 3:28
Prayer of Faith
If still, you have not received Jesus in your heart, and after reading this message, you have encouraged to do it, since it has interested you, the subject of evangelizing, and to carry the message of Jesus everywhere, in order to become a bearer of good tidings. I have a good news, today you have the opportunity to receive Jesus in your heart, through repetition, with all your heart of this simple, but very powerful prayer:
"My Lord Jesus, I want to ask you with all my heart and my being, to enter my life, to change it, and make me a new creature. I acknowledge today before you, all my faults and sins, I ask you to forgive me, and help me never to commit them again. I ask you to become a person, bearer of your love, in order to carry the message of salvation throughout the world. In the name of Jesus, amen"
