Today, I made a visit to a place I hold close to my heart, worsborough mill, near Barnsley in South Yorkshire. The first time I visited the place was way back in the 80’s while I was still in junior school, they even gave us a bag of flower that is still milled there.

This is still a working mill, powered by waterwheel, sadly, the wheel is in a really dark room, so couldn’t get a decent shot of it. The old part of the mill dates back to the 1600’s and the new part dates back to the 1800s.
I don’t think you can get any greener than an old water powered mill, oh, maybe a windmill lol.

There is a fantastic café at the mill called Millers tea room, fantastic service a beautiful coffee served there too, I did have a naughty bacon sarny while I was there, it was lush lol.

There’s also a fairly big reservoir to walk around too, this takes about 40 minutes.
I high recommend a visit to this place if you are in the area, for an instant you get transported into the past, especially hearing the mill in action, fed by nothing but water.
Thanks for checking out my post, I really hope you like it. I didn’t have my camera on me today, so all images shot on a iPhone XR, yes I know the camera is crap on his model, but the camera 2+ app is really useful.
