The food vs fuel debate has been a long term piece of propaganda from the mainstream media. A common misconception is that using corn as fuel will make the price of food skyrocket . After watching a Documentary called Pump it explains how this is simply not true. Currently the majority of corn that is Grown in the united states is used as bio mass feed for cows. In order to make biofeed , the corn has to be put through a distillation process that makes 2 products , Ethanol and biomass. The Cows are fed the biomass and the ethanol is used as a blend with fossil fuels. Currently not all cars in the U.S. are made for flex fuels. But Brazil has proven that any car can be converted to flex fuel as the majority of their cars run on ethanol fuel and they export the majority of their crude oil.
