I would consider Rock Isle Lake via Sunshine Meadows to be one of the “hidden gems” in the Banff Park area. Funny thing is though, in order to get to this hidden gem, one must first start in Banff, but then enter East Kootenay Park to visit. Mountain backdrop, check. Plenty of beautiful green foliage, check. Turquoise lake water, check. Fewer hikers, check. Hidden Gem discovered, check. Have you found any hidden gems lately?
