Can you make it across this log without falling in? One false move, lose your balance and there goes your nice clean hiking shoes (and possibly even your nice expensive camera..). Maybe we ought to just go around the mud, or better yet, find a better way. This area is known as the ochre beds, a prelude to the paint pots found only a short distance away. A highly recommended and more or less easy hike to the paint pots, and family friendly. Just have to keep the kids on a short leash, so you don’t end up with orangish mud on your vehicle interior!
