In Yangzhou China, when walking through that many gardens that I had the opportunity to see. I came to this one. What was interesting and also not interesting about this waterfall and pond, was that is was most likely man-made. There is no problem with a man-made waterfall in a garden. It's done everyday.
It was that this one was made almost 800 years ago. Sure is has gotten a bit of help through the years to maintain it, but its origanal plan came in to play so many years ago that todays feeling that it is still working make your heart sink.
The change over the years to the rock and surounding are have even created a more interesting structure of rock formations.
