The post I just resteemed from Hive account@penguinpablo is a good one. He explains how the inflation of steem works. Basically if you own STEEM over time you lose 9-10 percent a year (if the price of steem stayed exactly even) to inflation. If you hold STEEM POWER, you get a similar percent as a type of interest.
