Would I rather be an emergency doctor, a zookeeper, or a police crime scene investigator?
That's an easy one!
Having cared for my father with dementia for four long years, I would choose the occupation involving the fewest bodily excretions.
Zookeeper? That'd be a "hell no."
Emergency doctor? God no! I have very little patience. “Sick or not sick, everyone works today,” is my motto. When someone tells me they’re unwell, my instinct is to tell them to “Get up outta that and stop the malingering”
No, I think a crime scene investigator would suit me down to the ground.
Granted, some crime scenes could be a tad messy, but presumably I would have minions to deal with the gory bits, while I got on with the more cerebral task of joining the dots. I've been reading crime fiction for more than half a century, so there's little I don't know about the proper procedures, like putting on those dinky little plastic booties to avoid contaminating the scene.
Besides, I was a title investigator of some considerable standing in a former life, you know.
While other title reconstruction experts sat on their arses poring over ancient tomes in the Land Registry and hoping for a miracle, I'd be tearing around Dublin on the back of a Honda 50, visiting properties and interrogating the neighbours to see what they knew.

When Dublin’s light rail system was being constructed, it was my company that was hired to trace the owners of properties along the route that were to be compulsorily acquired, but whose ownership was unknown.
One of my greatest triumphs was discovering that one particularly mysterious property, for which nobody could establish title, turned out to be a caravan parked in someone’s driveway.
On the strength of that piece of detective work alone, I feel uniquely qualified for the investigator's position. Sure, I'd have the crime rate down to nothing in no time at all.
