If you ever get the chance to visit Pasadena, California, I highly recommend coming for New Year's Day. The Tournament of Roses Parade is a sight to behold! Moreover, I suggest you stick around to view the floats up close during the post parade display.
The floats are able to be viewed for a couple of days, before they are taken away, dismantled, and some of the flower petals turned to potpourri.
Each float is truly a work of art!
Each rose has its own water supply to keep it fresh for as long as possible.
Countless hours of work go into these masterpieces.
Pictures are created out of all natural materials such as seeds, petals, flowers and fruit.
We were even able to get a look at the compartment where the Float Driver sits! It's small, dark, and warm, with a tiny window to look out.
Some of the floats are made of fruit! So much fruit! Blueberries, apricots and so much more!
The parade is lovely, and the floats are beautiful from afar or even on TV. But you can't really see the intricate attention to detail that goes into their creation until you get right up next to them.
Inspiring beauty and loveliness on parade to celebrate the New Year!
