Who doesn't love a game of football? Or soccer if you're from The US of A ;)
From the minute I started walking I started kicking a ball, back in the 1980's (yep I was born in 1981 lol) we didn't have video games or the technology that we take for granted nowadays.
Going outside was a must, otherwise, you'd die of boredom in the house. Back then you had 4 TV channels, no YouTube or Facebook to drain your hours or life.
It was jumpers for goalposts nightly!
As soon as dinner was done, it was out with your friends or your old man until it got dark.
Those were the days!
Over the last few years, I've travelled and helped people in Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam and of course Scotland :)
What I found was it was like the good old days, making do with whatever the conditions were, just so we could kick a ball.
This was me in Nepal, up in the rice terraces of the Himalayas. I was there rebuilding homes after the earthquakes had devastated most of the country in 2015.
This photo and the first photo were taken in Cambodia where I helped at a school.
As I'm writing this, I can't help but get itchy feet! The feeling of having the ball at your feet brings back so many memories for me.
SO, where's the most insane place you've played football?
Thanks for reading folks.
Keep it real
Derek
