Another day, another hike - this one was more serious: a 30km one-way trek into Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park, B.C., from the Mt. Shark trailhead (in Alberta), with camping gear, camera gear and food for three days on my back. It was a long, tiring solo walk, but one of the best adventures of the trip, being rewarded at the end with views like this of Mt. Assiniboine, a peak that has been appropriately termed the Matterhorn of the Canadian Rockies. This park is in my opinion one of the most beautiful natural areas in all of Canada, and I would return here any day.
Spending two nights and three days here, I will write a longer story and share many more photos from this backpacking trip at a later date.
