Hello, friends and foodies!
Today i would like to introduce Indonesian authentic snacks, pempek and lumpia jakarta. Pempek actually came from Palembang, South Sumatra. It made from fish, garlic, egg and flour. While lumpia, some places in Indonesia had it, Semarang (Central Java) and Jakarta. The different between them was only the young bamboo (rebung) in Lumpia Semarang, while in Jakarta it contained yam.
We went to a restaurant titled bakso aha (means aha meatballs), but they also sold another menu like pempek, lumpia and so on here.

Located next to a pharmacy on Senopati street, they had a quite large dining area which always clean and neat. When we arrived, we could smell their fresh and sterile aroma of their lemongrass floor cleaner.

We ordered their authentic lumpia jakarta and pempek kapal selam, then paid it. Here we must pay before we eat. And to get the lumpia you must come earlier, or it would be sold out.
How much we paid?

It was only 28,000 IDR for a lumpia and a pempek, so it was only around 2 USD altogether.
Here how they looked like

The lumpia jakarta had many vegetables inside and crispy soft skin. They put the authentic peanut taste with savory, sweet and spicy flavour on the top. The lumpia itself had the savory flavour. And it was delicious.

The pempek kapal selam, had savory and sweet taste from the fish as its' main ingredient. It had the egg inside. Tasted delicious with the spicy sweet vinegar sauce, noodle and cucumber.
I also invite you to try these authentic dishes here
