Media is another word for audio-visual or teaching materials. Nowadays the word is generally used in journalism. Education is concerned with communication and media.
Audio-visual media has two aspects, one is the hardware aspect: this refers to the equipment, devices and facilities- projection unit, record/player system which are necessary for display or use of these high technology media. The other one is the software aspect which comprises of films, slides, photograph, tapes and so on.
Owing a computer and other smaller and lighter devices like television set, video recorder or radio cassettes are easier for teachers and learners to use or operate.
