For a long time I haven’t seen much new when it comes to street art here in Kristiansand. I had a sister visiting me in June this year and as always we took a walk around the city center. I made only a couple of new discoveries. But for her there were many new that she hadn’t seen before. The first photo is the back wall of a public toilet and it was new.
We found this on a building on the island Odderøya. I am not familier with the artist. Haven't seen any of her work in town.
Vlekart is the artist behind this painting of a plane spreading colors. He is one of our wellknown local artists and very active. I think he is the one who has been responsible for the vast majority of murals in Kristiansand. Note "K-town". That's a nickname for Kristiansand!
I am not sure when this was painted, but I noticed it in July this year. It's located in Nodeland, a small settlement outside Kristiansand, but still within Kristiansand municipality. I think this is a really good mural with earth, the cities on the surface and in the sky above.
This is not new. I see that I took the photos one year ago. They are painted by Caroling Falkholt on the fench behind the Art Museum in the center of Kristiansand. But it's not here anymore. When I did the round with my sister (I wanted to show her) it was already gone.
The same goes for these portraits painted by SNITT. There used to be a petroll station here at this corner, but it's gone. So are the portraits.
Not too much new this summer, I wonder if our local artist have taken a break....
