Here is another doodle do over that I made. I first did this prompt (blooming plant) back in January this year, and that version went straight into greens, very leafy, very plant energy. it was simple and safe, just a quiet little bloom doing its thing.
Revisiting it now, I didn’t want to land in the same place again and didn't want to make it too different either so I moved away from the green completely and leaned into this deep beet purple instead. something a bit heavier, a bit stranger. it still feels like a plant, but not the kind you’d expect at first glance.
I also pushed the idea of it being a character more this time. the leaves stretched out wider like arms, the body stayed slim like a stalk, but now it feels like it is actually in motion. like it is reacting to something, not just standing there. The head had this pointy hat and the neck has a little something that could resemble a collar, the face came through stronger too, with more expression carrying that curious look. I love the feet too the way I positioned them. Seems like it stepped on a stony ground. It was fun recreating it and will call it Korali
the January version feels like I was just answering the prompt. this one feels like I’m playing with it. same idea, different approach, and honestly I like letting it drift this way.
If you ever go back to an old doodle, don’t feel like you have to improve it in a straight line. sometimes it is more interesting to just take the same prompt and let your brain answer it differently the second time around
This is the before Bloomimg Plant I still love the quirky happy looking character goofing around.
Hope you like it. Hive On
