FixItFriday, Week 8: My Edits

While the Week 9 is going at Hive account@photogames I have collected all of my edits for #FixItFriday from the Week 8 in one post. I had to say this Friday was very successful for me. Three of my edits are the winning ones!

So, let's go!

Moraine Lake

BEFORE.
That is an amazing shot of the place from my bucket list by Hive account@derekkind. As you can see, the shot is almost great from the camera. But, unfortunately, Derek was one of a zillion photographers there.

AFTER.
I know how much Derek likes his fellow photographers' gear, but let's imagine he was there alone. I have removed all the gear, the facilities, and admirers of nature on the shore. And then some dodge/burn on the rocks, slight color and perspective corrections. Bam! The first winning edit! Thanks, Derek!

Cape Elizabeth Light House

BEFORE.
Beautiful shot of a beautiful place by Hive account@sjarvie5! Almost nothing to do here.

AFTER.
I just made some basic tone/color edits, aligned the horizon and cropped a little.

Golden Hour Wedding

BEFORE.

AFTER.
Here I just revealed the details in the shadows, added more gold to the sky and cropped to 16:9. And... Here is my the second winning edit! Thanks, Verity!

Tinghir

BEFORE.
A travel photo from Morocco by Hive account@jpphotography. As Julian said he wasn't lucky enough to witness the great light there, but those building and the Atlas mountains are great anyway!

AFTER.
That was tough! I repaired the sky, dodge/burn the mountains and the houses, pushed the colors and moved the women to another path. Finally, I cropped the photo a bit. The image started to look a bit more HDR-ish then I usually prefer. But that is what I like in #fixitfriday; you can try different things I may wouldn't try usually. And it is my third winning edit! Thanks, Julian!

Pole Dancing with the Stars

BEFORE.
This photo is from famous series Pole Dancing with the Stars by Hive account@caseygrimley. All the series is absolutely amazing! Check Casey's blog to see more if you hadn't had a chance yet! It was the most challenging image to work with on this #fixitfriday!

AFTER.
If you saw the photos from Pole Dancing with the Stars series you can realize how hard to compete with it. So, I just tried to make the less possible damage :D. So, I revealed the Milky Way, worked on noise cancellation and colors.

Pickaxe

BEFORE.
Awesome shot by Hive account@gabyoraa! I like the mood here a lot!

AFTER.

I tried to keep and emphasize the mood by cooling down everything except the skin. I cropped the final image a bit and made some little distractions less active.

Gornje Podunavlje

BEFORE.
The beautiful and peaceful shot by Hive account@bil.prag. I is a lovely place with the house on the lake shore. And I just love autumn!

AFTER.
I have added more autumn colors, cropped tighter, and played with dodge/burn to achieve a painterly effect and focus on the house.
