Hello folks, today I took a quick jaunt out to a spot near my house called Rocky Butte. I thought it would be exceptionally clear today but when I got there, that wasn't the case. I still got some interesting pictures though.
Rocky Butte is an extinct cinder cone volcano and is one of many in the Boring lava field. Atop the butte is is Joseph Wood Hill park which offers visitors a nice spot to relax and take in the 360 degree view.
After climbing the stairs you reach the park.
On a clear day you can see for miles and miles. Today was a bit hazy off to the east and Mt. Hood was not showing itself. However, to north you could see Mt. St. Helens.
To the West and through the trees you can see downtown Portland.
Here is a shot looking North East down the Columbia river.
It's always nice to get out and see what any given area has to offer. Luckily for me, Portland is a treasure trove of awesome spots. I hope to be sharing many more with you in the future. Thanks for reading!
