Our little city in the heart of the Cariboo is still evacuated due to the raging wild fires in British Columbia. Most residents have left and only a handful of brave men and women have stayed behind to battle angry walls of red.
There is no traffic, all the businesses are closed and everything is quiet - eerily so. A heavy smoke has settled in place of the usual hustle and bustle. The city waits for the worst.
Then, suddenly, the sky turns black and weeps for the city. A prayer was answered as heavy rain fell on the scorched forests of Williams Lake.
Finally. A good day.
