Energy that is generated from wind it is arguably one of the fastest growing sources of electricity in the world. It is commonly very costly, as the development for wind power usually takes place on a large scale. But a new development by a French company called New Wind has opened the door to smaller-scale operations.
The design that they've released resembles a tree and the branches hold dozens of small blades that are able to soundlessly harness the wind; regardless of which way the wind is blowing. Larger turbines will commonly require winds to be at least 22 miles per hour but these smaller designs are able to start working with winds that are only at 5 miles per hour.
In January, New Wind successfully installed the very first tree that went to a private company; it was a private Swiss bank. And they have many contracts for expansion in a number of countries like Germany, France, and Switzerland. A single tree right now costs about $56,000 U.S. dollars and that includes delivery and installation.
The unique design of these trees allows for it to be used in many different spaces and in many different ways. You could choose to place one on the balcony for example or perhaps attach one to a back porch. Whereas solar panels and other options are more limited in where they can be placed.
