A selection of happy snaps from a balmy Saturday afternoon in May 2016, Toulouse, while I was on my annual road trip from London to Ibiza.
I found Toulouse to be a very fun city. It's hard not to be when there's 100,000 students in a city of 400,000. When I arrived on Friday night, people were sitting out in the streets playing guitars, kicking footballs, just generally enjoying life. I stumbled across a 100-person convoy of rollerskaters, and on Saturday afternoon, the boulevards and squares of the medieval city centre came to life. On one pedestrianised shopping boulevard, a man had wheeled his piano out onto the street and was playing a bit of Chopin for the passers by. (Sadly the humidity in Mumbai claimed the phone that I filmed that on, and the video went with it.) It was a stark contrast to Paris, where I had left from on Friday, which was gloomy in both climate and vibe.
An all-girl band marching through the city centre.
The local Crossfit gym came down to the square to show off.
There's loads of cute little shopping streets.
There's houseboats on the river.
It wouldn't be France without cafes.
And, like all European cities, the graffiti is great.
