Whats up community!?
Today I want to share with you all some pics from las summer (Dec 2019) in Fox Glacier.
This little town never ceases to amaze me. The stunning landscape, the lake, the glacier, the beach.... theres a lot to see in such a small area and I think that is just nuts.
You can be at Gillespies beach checking New Zealand´s highest mountains and 20 minutes later you can be at the bottom of the glacier. You can also visit Lake Matheson, which has a cool loop trail with some sweet views of the mountains and their reflection.
A fun fact about Fox Glacier is that it is a super small village/town that doesn´t even have a supermarket. There is a tiny convenience store, which isn´t very convenient to be honest (ripoff). The village is located at the bottom of the Southern Alps, New Zealand´s highest mountains. We are so lucky to get to see both of NZ´s highest peaks: Mt Cook and Mt Tasman.
Life is wild in Fox, isolation makes people a little crazy in my honest opinion... but the good kind of crazy. The closest "big" city is Hokitika at around 2.5 hours drive north and Wanaka at about 4 hours drive south. Of course that there are little towns on both ways but yeah...the south island is not crowded at all!
Hope you like my pictures, all taken with my Sony Alpha a6000.
