Talking about marriage, does marriage stop people from being baptized? Or do they go together or they do not go together?
In Acts 22, vs 16, And now that arrest, arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, in the name of the Lord.
This is Apostle Paul, who now realized that he was in the wrong religion, which is Judaism. And now he has been told to baptize, so that he would cleanse himself. So he did not say arise and be married, but the most important message that they gave Paul was to be baptized, to be new in Christ.
You can be baptized, even without being engaged or married, or what half-paths have done or movements. But the most important thing is marriage first. Baptism first.
What is the connection between being engaged and being baptized? When we are baptized, we follow the will of Christ. We are engaged to the will of God. So these are three, these are very different things.
You marry a woman, and you and the woman shall be called one, husband and wife. But it does not change anything. So it does not affect anything in our spiritual life, more than when we baptize.
Baptism is different from marriage. And both are important. So baptism is very important to cleanse your soul. And marriage is not, nothing to be compared to baptism.
