Lo único que el ser humano jamás podrá secuestrar ni controlar será la libertad del pensamiento; estos marcarán el destino que nos trazamos, así estemos bajo cuatro paredes en manos de nuestro captor. Porque somos dueños de nosotros mismos y esto no será negociable. Evitaré que encadenen mi ser; por esa razón la libertad la protejo, custodio y cultivo, el ser libre, uno de mis bienes más preciados, mi mayor Tesoro.

Desde tiempos ancestrales, el ser humano ha estado en la búsqueda constante de una de las cosas más hermosas para proteger su ser, la tan ansiada libertad en cuerpo, alma y espíritu. Esto ha sido una lucha constante del hombre contra el hombre para ver quién será el más fuerte, el más dominante, el que pondrá las cadenas para esclavizar. Pero, gracias al creador, los mundos de antes no serán los mismos del presente, y así como habrá gente luchando por esclavizar, habrá muchos más trabajando por romper esas cadenas.
Y el ser humano luchará por lograrlo sí y solo si lo deseara desde el corazón, porque el único responsable será él mismo. Y eso podrá verse en todos los ámbitos de nuestra vida. De acuerdo con mi criterio, el norte deberá ser buscar y lograr encontrar el sitio donde nos sentiremos libres, cual pájaro; eso traerá consigo innumerables beneficios a nuestra vida.
Tal vez, por algunas circunstancias, los seres humanos no lograron ser libres, unos por situaciones que se desarrollaron en la niñez, otras por patrones familiares, miedos, traumas, duelos, sentido de culpa, por agradecimiento, perder zonas de confort, entre otros, y algunos no lo sanaron y permitieron que les fuera secuestrado su accionar, las emociones.
Incluso en algunos casos, ellos mismos buscaron las esposas para que secuestraran su libertad, y arrojaron las llaves en medio de una tormenta para que no los liberaran más nunca. De esto conozco varios casos y aun así se sentirán felices; será paradójico, pero así será. Aunque no habrá nada que pudiera evitar si la persona quisiera salir de esa situación y recuperar su libertad, sobre todo la emocional, la única traba será él mismo. Fácil no lo será, pero difícil tampoco, y trabajándolo podrá recuperar su libertad.
A una gran amiga a la cual le aplicaron el chantaje emocional; le secuestraron la vida emocionalmente a través de sus hijos estando pequeños; uno de ellos nació enfermo y requirió de mucho tratamiento médico; ella era como un pajarito enjaulado, pero sin barrotes. Literal, y pasado el tiempo, apenas intentaron abrir la jaula para darle de comer, la empujó con todas sus fuerzas y voló; lo logró, tuvo que esperar, pero al final logró ser libre, fue hermoso.
Since ancient times, human beings have been on a constant quest for one of the most beautiful things to protect their very being: the long-awaited freedom of body, soul, and spirit. This has been a constant struggle of man against man to see who will be the strongest, the most dominant, the one who will impose chains to enslave. But, thanks to the Creator, the worlds of the past will not be the same as those of the present, and just as there will be people fighting to enslave, there will be many more working to break those chains.
And human beings will strive to achieve this only if they desire it from the heart, because they alone will be responsible. And this will be evident in every aspect of our lives. In my view, our guiding principle must be to seek and find the place where we feel free, like a bird; this will bring countless benefits to our lives.
Perhaps, due to certain circumstances, human beings have failed to be free—some because of events that unfolded during childhood, others because of family patterns, fears, traumas, grief, guilt, a sense of obligation, or the loss of their comfort zones, among other reasons—and some have not healed from these experiences, allowing their actions and emotions to be hijacked.
In some cases, they even sought out the handcuffs to take away their freedom, and threw away the keys in the middle of a storm so they would never be set free again. I know of several such cases, and yet they will feel happy; it may seem paradoxical, but that is how it will be. Although there is nothing that could prevent a person from leaving that situation and regaining their freedom—especially emotional freedom—if they so desired, the only obstacle will be themselves. It won’t be easy, but it won’t be difficult either, and by working at it, they can regain their freedom.
A dear friend of mine was subjected to emotional blackmail; her emotional life was taken away from her through her children when they were young; one of them was born sick and required extensive medical treatment; she was like a caged bird, but without bars. Literally, and as time went on, as soon as they tried to open the cage to feed her, she pushed against it with all her might and flew away; she did it—she had to wait, but in the end she managed to be free; it was beautiful.

También será increíble, pero algunas personas se acostumbraron tanto a satisfacer a los demás que olvidaron darse el lujo de satisfacer sus propias necesidades, hasta en lo más sencillo; perdieron la libertad. Algo así como cuando dejamos de comer ese chocolate que nos apeteció, o de respirar para que el otro durmiera bien, o darnos ese baño de ducha fría y no caliente.
Al perdernos por otro el de admirar a ese capullo que tenemos tiempo aguardando su despliegue para que emerja la flor, sencillamente porque a alguien no le sonó bien, y de acuerdo a mi criterio realmente, si a otro le gustó o no, será su problema, que eso, estimados lectores, no nos quite el aliento, ni la vida, porque sencillamente vinimos a ser libres y a disfrutar de lo que deseemos, y, por supuesto, sin pasar por encima de nadie.
Muy probablemente, lo que para algunos significará el ser libre para otros no, y cualquiera que fuera su perspectiva, será totalmente válida. Pues cada quien leerá en su libro y será dueño de su vida. Ahora bien, así como la felicidad es relativa, la libertad también; por lo tanto, será de libre albedrío.
Algunas veces, sin darnos cuenta, iremos perdiendo el radio de acción y cediendo espacios; por ende, por momentos perdimos la libertad de hacer lo que deseamos. Pero, entonces, urgentemente debemos accionar y tomar decisiones para ser libres. Porque el ser libre abarcará muchas cosas, desde tomar la decisión de hacer un humeante café a la hora que lo deseemos o no, comer, ir al cine, a la playa, hasta salir de una fiesta a la hora que quisiéramos o no, o hasta la hora que decidimos o no participar en determinado proyecto, entre otros, sin sentir una pizca de culpa.
De todas maneras de todo habrá en la viña del Señor y cada quien será responsable de las decisiones que tomará para rescatar y construir la vida que deseará.
It may also seem incredible, but some people became so accustomed to pleasing others that they forgot to allow themselves the luxury of meeting their own needs, even the simplest ones; they lost their freedom. It’s a bit like when we stop eating that chocolate we craved, or hold our breath so the other person can sleep well, or take a cold shower instead of a hot one.
By getting sidetracked by others’ admiration for that bud we’ve been waiting for to bloom, simply because it didn’t sit well with someone, and in my opinion, really, whether someone else liked it or not is their problem. That, dear readers, shouldn’t take our breath away or our lives, because we simply came here to be free and to enjoy what we desire, and, of course, without stepping on anyone else.
Most likely, what for some means being free for others does not, and whatever their perspective may be, it will be entirely valid. For each person will read their own book and be the master of their own life. Now, just as happiness is relative, so is freedom; therefore, it will be a matter of free will.
Sometimes, without realizing it, we gradually lose our scope of action and give up ground; as a result, at times we lose the freedom to do what we want. But then, we must act urgently and make decisions to be free. Because being free encompasses many things, from deciding whether or not to make a steaming cup of coffee whenever we want, to eating, going to the movies, or to the beach, to leaving a party whenever we want—or not—or deciding whether or not to participate in a certain project, among other things, without feeling a shred of guilt.
In any case, there will be something for everyone in the Lord’s vineyard, and each person will be responsible for the decisions they make to reclaim and build the life they desire.
En ese abanico de opciones, defenderemos la libertad para no perderla, ya que por ley de nacimiento, acaso, ¿no nacimos solos con identidad propia, con una huella digital? Y así, aunque vivamos en el marco familiar, en comunidad, en pareja, entre otros, nunca deberemos perder la libertad, el tesoro más preciado, y será sine qua non protegerla, custodiarla y cultivarla.
Pero, en caso de haber perdido la libertad por momentos, podremos recuperarla cuando lo deseamos y, por experiencia personal, les diré que más de una vez la he recuperado; y, ha traído tranquilidad, paz a mi vida.
Within this range of options, we will defend our freedom so as not to lose it, for by the very law of birth, were we not born alone, with our own identity, with a unique fingerprint? And so, even as we live within the family, in a community, as a couple, or in other contexts, we must never lose freedom, our most precious treasure, and it is essential to protect, safeguard, and nurture it.
But, in the event that we have lost freedom at times, we can regain it whenever we wish, and from personal experience, I can tell you that I have regained it more than once; and it has brought tranquility and peace to my life.

Gente bella de #Empowertalent, la libertad ha sido el bien más preciado; mi mayor tesoro, cuando la conquistamos, la defenderemos de ser posible hasta con las uñas y dientes. Certifico que a esta edad de sesenta hermosos años, desde hace muchísimo tiempo puedo decir que soy un ser libre emocionalmente; ya con eso tengo todo, lo demás vendrá por añadidura. Acciono mi vida con total libertad; con solo poner la cabeza en la almohada y dormir placenteramente, allí también estará presente la libertad.
Por esa razón, cada segundo que respiro la protejo, la custodio, la cultivo; sin la libertad no habrá razón de ser. Pónganse la mano sobre el corazón y tomemos decisiones por nuestro bienestar. Sin pensar en los demás para darnos el permiso, el lujo de ser libres, por ende el de ser feliz con aquello que algunas veces fue tan impalpable que solo el ser humano podrá sentirlo. Sencillo, tomar ese café caliente, tibio o frío, pero a nuestro gusto.
Y esas cosas me han ayudado a tomar decisiones trascendentales para resguardar y proteger mi vida. Una vez lograda, la libertad será espectacular, porque tendrás el poder sobre tu vida y, más importante aún, sobre los pensamientos; estos jamás lo podrán secuestrar.
El lograr el ser libres será el resultado de la suma de pequeñas cosas como decidir qué comer, vestir, cultivar el talento que nos hará felices, no aceptar chantaje para modificar lo que desearíamos; allí nos daremos cuenta de cuán libres seremos. Porque una cosa será que en determinado momento pidamos una opinión con relación a algo y otra cosa es que esperemos que la pareja, amistad, familiar, entre otros, escojan, hasta que nos iremos a poner como que fuéramos muchachos pequeños sin poder de decisión.
Y será importante entender que cuando obviamos el respetar el espacio de los demás, sus gustos, entre otros, eso será una traba para nosotros lograr el ser libres. Somos un espejo; así como exigimos respeto a nuestros gustos, también tenemos derecho a ser recíprocos con los demás. La decisión de elegir hacer lo que nos gustará será parte de la libertad de acción y esto traerá bienestar a nuestra vida. Cuando miro, leo, oigo cada segundo, minuto y hora sobre lo que los demás hicieron para lograr el ser libres, me sentí feliz, y ha sido hermoso.
Estimados y bellos lectores los invito a defender su libertad contra viento y marea, no nos perdamos de vivir y disfrutar del verdadero lujo de la vida, la tan ansiada libertad, mi mayor tesoro. Ser libre es una decisión personal. Seremos cada uno de nosotros los responsables de erradicar lo que se nos presentara al frente para vivir en libertad, sencillamente porque lo merecemos.
Por mi parte, el único con el poder de quitarme mi libertad será mi Dios todopoderoso porque fue él quien me la dio.

Dear friends at #Empowertalent, freedom has been my most precious possession; my greatest treasure. Once we’ve won it, we’ll defend it—if necessary—with tooth and nail. I can attest that at this age of sixty wonderful years, I’ve been able to say for a very long time that I am emotionally free; with that alone, I have everything; the rest will follow. I live my life with total freedom; just by laying my head on the pillow and sleeping peacefully, freedom will be there too.
For that reason, every second I breathe, I protect it, I guard it, I nurture it; without freedom, there would be no reason to exist. Put your hand on your heart, and let’s make decisions for our own well-being. Without thinking of others to give ourselves permission—the luxury of being free—and thus the freedom to be happy with that which was once so intangible that only a human being can feel it. Simple: enjoy that coffee—hot, warm, or cold—but just the way we like it.
And those things have helped me make life-changing decisions to safeguard and protect my life. Once achieved, freedom will be spectacular, because you will have power over your life and, more importantly, over your thoughts; they will never be able to take that away from you.
Achieving freedom will be the result of the sum of small things, such as deciding what to eat, what to wear, and cultivating the talents that will make us happy—and refusing to be blackmailed into changing what we desire; that is when we will realize just how free we truly are. Because it’s one thing to ask for an opinion about something at a certain moment, and quite another to expect our partner, friend, family member, or others to make the choice for us—until we end up acting like little children with no power to decide.
And it will be important to understand that when we fail to respect others’ personal space and preferences, among other things, this will hinder our ability to be free. We are a mirror; just as we demand respect for our own preferences, we also have the right to extend that same respect to others. The decision to choose to do what we love is part of our freedom of action, and this brings well-being to our lives. When I look, read, or hear every second, minute, and hour about what others have done to achieve freedom, I feel happy, and it has been beautiful.
Dear and beautiful readers, I invite you to defend your freedom against all odds; let us not miss out on living and enjoying the true luxury of life, the long-awaited freedom, my greatest treasure. Being free is a personal decision. Each of us will be responsible for overcoming whatever stands in our way to live in freedom, simply because we deserve it.
As for me, the only one with the power to take away my freedom will be my almighty God, because it was He who gave it to me.
