A theory with high probabilities, and some flaws, but it is worth to checkout the possibility that Jon Snow will became the new Night King and to take control of army of White Walkers,
When watching the last episode of GoT I realized that there are many points in common between the history of the popular MMO Game WoW (World of Warcraft) and the books of Game of Thrones, especially in the TV series GoT (Game of thrones,), so I started to read and investigate and this is what I concluded.
If you haven’t seen episode 6 of season 7 please don’t continue reading there are spoilers!!
George R. R. Martin the author of GoT began writing his books in the early 1990's, even do, it is possible that George R. R. Martin has taken some inspiration for the last books from the story that has World of Warcarft. This game was described as one of the greatest games since its publication in 2004. With a very complex story line and many sub stories. The relationship between the two stories is evident especially in the expansion of the game called "Wrath of the Lich King" there are many similarities according to the plot of the last GoT seasons.
Some of the similarities that lead us to this theory:
1. White Walker and the Undead
In WoW the "Scourge" a faction of undead who are in the Arctic, an armada of beings who were infected by a plague and now are undead with blue eyes. Very similar to the White Walkers.
2. A White Walker Dragon
The undead transformation not only affects humans it also affects animals and other beings, such as bears and giants. In WoW the king of this Legion of Undead rides a dragon called Sindragosa.
3. The Knight King,
At the end of the Game in the last battle against the "Lich King" who was formerly Prince Arthas, it is discovered that the real intention of this prince was to keep under control the legion of Undeads, so one of the Heroes must take his place as the new Lich King.
Why Jon Snow will become the Night King
1. Jon Snow the Savior and martyr.
In our society many books are impregnated with religious connotations, in GoT Jhons Snow was resurrected by the god of fire / light, a very clear connotation about Jesus, so to save mankind Jon must sacrifice to rise.
2. A Bitter End
A happy ending where Jon and Daeneryse marry, defeat the forces of evil, come to reign in Westeros, keeping the peace and then living happy forever, is not likekly to happend. A happy ending is not the right ending for a books full of tragedies and surprises.
3. An unexpected alternative
If the legion of countless White Walker is so strong, a good chance is that the child of the forest work to create a new Night King.
4. Jon Snow and his relationship with the north and the cold.
Jon Snow is presented as the union between fire and ice as it was been revived by the fire god, and its relationship with the north is well known.
Some ideas against this teory:
- Bran or anyone else could take the place of Jon as the Knight King
- We Do not know what is the real intention of the Knight King's, will it be just to go south to kill humans? Really?
- There is still much more to know about the plot, and what are the real difficulties and risk of facing the White Walkers.
